                Rules

RULE 29: FORFEITS

A.  A team not present per Rule 22 will lose the match by forfeit.

B.  A minimum of two (2) players of one team must be present to receive a winning forfeiture.

C.  The League Statistician must be notified by mail AND by phone by the winning Captain of a Forfeit match.

D.  No match will be won or lost by forfeiture in the event of inclement weather. The team Captains of the opposing teams shall schedule a makeup match within two weeks of the regularly scheduled match except during the last two weeks of regularly scheduled League play. During the last two weeks of League play, the rescheduled match must be played before the next regularly scheduled match. The visiting team Captain shall contact the home team based on the individual circumstances. The home team Captain shall call the League Statistician prior to 12:00 noon the following day and leave a message stating that the match will be rescheduled. The notification shall include each team’s name, Captains’ names and telephone numbers, night, and division. Bad weather shall be defined as excessive snow, blizzard conditions, tornado warnings, and flooding as indicated by the Colorado Springs Police Department or the Colorado State Patrol. Bad weather shall be said to exist when the Colorado Springs Police Department is on the “cold report” system.

E.  If a team forfeits two (2) matches in one season, The Rules Committee may drop them from the League.

F.  If a team loses their membership in CSDL for two (2) forfeiture in a season, the opposing teams will receive points for the actual number of games played up until the team loses membership. At that point each opposing team will receive wins for each scheduled match with the forfeit team. All Quality Points and award points actually earned will stand, but there will be NO credit for games not actually played.

G.  Any team Captain may appeal a forfeiture to the Rules Committee to reschedule the match. The team claiming the forfeiture may be instructed to play the match by the Rules Committee. If the team refuses to play, they may be dropped from the League.  If for some reason both teams do not appear to a match without agreement of the Board, both teams will receive a 0-10 or 0-30 record for the game (as approiate).  This rule mainly exists when the Rules Committee designates a game to be played and neither team shows to play it.

RULE 30:  STANDINGS

A.  Standings are determined by the percentage of games won compared to the total games played minus penalty points.

B.  The standings as posted shall be considered final unless protested in writing within 21 days of publication.
